10) Blame Yourself: As the LOA is supposed to be a perfect, universal law, positivity should ALWAYS attract more positivity. The corollary of this is that you alone are completely responsible for any goal that was not successfully achieved, no matter how unrealistic the goal. This assumes that you not only control your thoughts and actions, but also those of everyone around you…and nature. The fact is, that you don’t. Sorry to break that to you.
How To Use Law Of Attraction For Success
Lots of us have trouble manifesting the futures we want because we're stuck in the past, says Graham. We have negative people demanding our attention, trauma we're still trying to process, or even physical or emotional ailments carried over from past lives. Releasing means limiting our interactions with negative people, understanding that any trauma we experienced was not our fault and we don't need to make sense of it, and undergoing relaxation rituals (Graham recommends bath salts). Whatever's holding you back, check it off your list before the new year so you can focus on moving forward.

Whatever you want already exists in your imagination, doesn’t it? Therefore it is just as real as any other idea you have ever had that came to fruition. Play with the belief that what you want is already waiting for you. You’ve placed the order, now you’re on your way to pick it up. What have you got to lose? After all, you don’t “need” what you desire, it’s just for fun.
What does it mean to manifest hopes and dreams in your life? The idea of visualizing something we want, and attracting it to us, is an ancient principle of life. Some choose to pray, while others chant, meditate, visualize or create affirmations. Yet, the never-ending tragedy of global economic catastrophe, volcanoes, oil spills and war has beaten many positive thinkers right down to the ground, and taken a tremendous toll on our collective psyche.

Call it luck. Call it prayer. Call it manifesting. Just don’t call it magic. If you were to pick up a book on manifesting, you might think that all you need to do is visualize what you want, then keep visualizing it, and visualize some more, and then—poof!—it appears. But in the world of Lacy Phillips, who has built her life and career around this skill, it is simple psychology. It involves understanding your childhood programming and your shame and reprogramming your subconscious beliefs; it requires work and action and vulnerability.
Before getting into asking the Universe to deliver and all that jazz, you have to get rid of all the things holding you back. We all were given messages as children. Some were related to our careers or finances or relationships, and we internalized those messages. These messages allowed us to create trust with the Universe (re: faith) or fear that we will never have or be good enough. Before you can truly make that vision you had come true, you need to acknowledge all the things holding you back.
Teachings on manifestation sometimes fail to dig deep enough into the subconscious roots of our current patterns of creation. If we don’t effectively unearth the hidden beliefs, habits and behavior patterns that may be blocking our ability to co-create, including the cultural programming we’ve absorbed from the world around us, we’ll constantly be working against ourselves. You can’t transform what you can’t see. And just as the subconscious mind can be the source of our biggest obstacles, it’s also the source of our greatest creative power. Simply encouraging people to “think more positive thoughts” only engages the conscious mind. To become an effective creator, we need to find ways to imprint new patterns and desires into the subconscious mind. In my new book, I guide readers into a new and empowered relationship with what lies beneath the surface of their everyday awareness.
3. FEEL YOUR DESIRE. If you want a trip somewhere, visualize yourself in that place and pay attention to how being there makes you feel inside. Right before I went to Paris, I felt myself in a beautiful place, with autumn crispness in the air and a feeling of love enveloping me. (I had no idea I was going to Paris at the time.) Just days later, I replicated the exact feeling in Paris! This is how the law of attraction works. What you’re really drawing to yourself is the feeling - not the actual “thing.” This is why I like to think of manifesting as attracting an experience or emotion, rather than some physical outward tangible thing. We’re here to experience, not to accumulate.
Just like you I have been reading and searching as much information related to this topic since I first heard of it years ago. I have fulfilled most if my goals and dreams. But guess what!! None of them are related to yachts, eating caviar, sipping champagne or waiting for a private jet to fly me to my private island. None of those are goals in my life and all of them except for the private island and the yet I have experienced and enjoyed without even having to be a tycoon.
If manifesting your dream life only required having positive thoughts, then this conversation would be irrelevant. If it were as simple as staying positive, you would have figured it out long ago. This goes much deeper than the surface level conscious mind thinking you’re well-acquainted with. The Law of Attraction is activated based on what’s occurring in the depths of your unconscious mind.
And, just as an important side note: Your subconscious is way, way more powerful than you possibly give it credit for. Most people don’t realize this fact. Your subconscious knows exactly what you’re going to do. It’s infinitely more aware of what’s happening in the universe than your conscious mind. It simply won’t be bullied. It’s happy for you to tell it what to do, once you master the process of doing so.
Something I hear often from people who have done dream boards is that they look back at their board after time has gone by and suddenly realize that a goal DID come to fruition, although not in the way that had imagined. When dreams arrive sometimes they are easy to recognize, and other times they come disguised. Be open to the surprise of it all, even if the surprise looks exactly like a failure at first. It's knowing that the magic of manifestation is all around us, and expecting that whatever comes serves our highest aspirations.
As a mind-reader, you should try to ATTRACT a different job, since in no way do I have any anger towards anyone with erroneous beliefs. I do feel sorry for you, but this is not anger. This is a free country and free society and you are free to believe anything you desire and free to waste your time as you see fit. You can smoke cigarettes as well. They will harm you and that is your choice. Same as a belief in a LOA.
The most challenging part of acknowledging and accepting the truth of what the Law of Attraction has to offer is coming to the realization that every single one of your decisions in life, good and bad, have been shaped by you alone. For many, this can be a bitter pill to swallow, especially if you feel that you or your loved ones have been dealt some particularly hard blows in life.
This step is important because those competing signals can be quite strong. Weaken the signal or change the direction of those thoughts like this: Approach those feelings with the love and compassion that you would feel towards a lonely, small child or a hurt animal. When you love yourself, you open up the possibility to receive your greatest desires, and you begin to only desire the things that are best for you.
