1. START SAYING NO. This applies to anything that’s not a “hell yes” in your life. Anytime you’re people-pleasing or doing something because you think you should be, or settling, what you’re communicating energetically and projecting is: “I’m not worth doing what I want” or “I don’t feel valuable enough to do what I want, therefore I’m going to keep staying small.” Whenever you’re in that mode, you’re just going to keep attracting the same lessons over and over and over again. Create boundaries and say no to what’s not a yes. That’s the number one thing somebody can do right away.

You are correct that in its infancy, psychology was criticized for claiming to be a scientific field and not living up to that assertion by performing quality research. I believe that this question has been put to rest as the rigors of publishing in psychology require randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled trials.
There's an old saying, perhaps you've heard it, "consider the source"? Do you not see the irony in your criticism of LOA, classifying it as a "pseudoscience", with your employer being PSYCHOLOGY TODAY? if I'm not mistaken, has the field of psychology itself, in It's infancy as well as today, not been debunked, by "actual science", referring to it also as "pseudoscience"?
I don’t believe the Law of Attraction is complete nonsense. I just believe it’s one piece of a bigger puzzle. It’s like the diet part to the diet and exercise needed if you want to change your body. I do believe in energy. I do believe in the power of visualization, beliefs, and using you entire body as an instrument. This means feeling not just thinking. And I believe if you live in a certain state / or “vibration” good does happen. Yes, there is science behind this. But I believe it because I have experienced it in my own life.
Maintaining a meager mindset will compromise a well-being. Otherwise, when we expand our mind with limitless possibilities those brick blocks begin to break down. Embrace believing anything is possible, the sky is the limit. In fact, you can break through that glass roof on the sky with your miraculous positive thoughts. Sadly, whenever we focus on the "lack of" we are creating a less-than reality. When we choose to monitor negative thoughts and switch our focus on being abundant and happy we will enjoy a luxurious and glorious reality.

I like to engage in these creative visualizations for five minutes or so just before I quiet my mind to meditate. It's a great pre-meditation practice because I can allow my mind to be actively focused on the visualizations before I ask it to stop ‘doing.' You can do it in the car while you wait at a red light. You can do it before bed — again a great way to focus and quiet the mind prior to sleep. Even better if you go to sleep holding in your mind's eye the dreams you wish for yourself. It doesn't matter really, the main thing is to practice specific visualizations every day.
The New Thought movement (Law of Attraction Origins) grew out of the teachings of Phineas Quimby in the early 19th century. Early in his life, Quimby was diagnosed with tuberculosis. Unfortunately, medicinal treatment wasn't working, so he began carriage riding through his hometown, Lebanon, New Hampshire.
